New WordPress Plugin Scores Content by Search Intent Instead of Exact-Match Keywords
Pattaya, Thailand – August 17, 2026 – A new WordPress plugin, Intent SEO, has been released to score website content on search intent rather than exact-match keyword repetition, addressing a gap between how popular SEO plugins grade content and how search engines have worked for over a decade.
Google moved away from literal string matching with its Hummingbird update in 2013 and its BERT update in 2019, both of which shifted ranking toward meaning and context. Many widely used WordPress SEO plugins still grade a page on whether a focus keyword appears verbatim in the title, headings and body text.
Intent SEO scores content live in the WordPress editor across five measures: on-page optimisation judged on meaning, answer-engine readiness, readability, human voice, and linkability.
